We’re going to do some Spring Cleaning together as part of the ongoing Love On Your Blog Series, and first up, we’re going to Purge Your Plugins. Plugins are one of the many reasons I love WordPress so much. “There’s an app for that” applies to plugins in the WordPress realm 100%. Dream it up, search the plugin repository. Chances are it’s there. But, you have to be super selective with what plugins you choose. When it comes to plugins, less is more. Keep in mind that every plugin you have active is slowing your site down, some a lot more than others. As a general rule of thumb I recommend no more than 20 plugins max be active on any single site. The more plugins you have, the greater chance of a plugin conflict causing issues for you as well. A fun little experiment for you to do prior to purging your plugins, test your site speed using GTmetrix. Then open another tab after you’ve purged your plugins and retest your load time. Questions to ask yourself as you scroll down the Plugins page of your dashboard:
Once you’ve deactivated, and deleted the plugins you chose to get rid of (be sure and delete them completely as inactive plugins pose a security risk), clear any cache you may have (plugin or server side), and then do a hard refresh (command+shift+r). What plugins did you choose to keep? Which ones did you find weren’t necessary? Were you able to replace several plugins with one? Let me know in the comments! xo Lindsey The post Purge Your Plugins appeared first on Pretty Darn Cute Design. by Lindsey Riel Origin soruce : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/purge-your-plugins What are the most important skills for an online marketer, blogger or professional? I am going to list my response to that, but I would be interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments. I’m intentionally keeping this one short so you can dive in and tell me where I am wrong! This post came about because I was just asked this question in email, and after responding briefly, I couldn’t get the question out of my head. After pondering on it, I realised it’s not quite as simple as it first seems. I realised that some of these are traits you are born with, but can develop, and others you can simply learn and practice. Although I often say I am not a natural born entrepreneur to excuse myself of deficiencies in certain areas, it makes me think that perhaps nobody is particularly born with entrepreneur DNA. After all, I haven’t added “natural risk-taker” or “born with wads of cash” to my list! Enough preamble, here is my top 5 list: Top 5 Most Essential Skills for Online Business:
OK, that was my list, what do you think? What skills do you need to succeed today? Please share in the comments …

Is one better than the other? Can one completely replace the other? Indeed it seems that online education is the way of the future. Educational institutions, corporations and government organizations alike already offer various forms of electronic teaching. However, can a computer truly replace a teacher and a blackboard? How people learn Each individual has a form of learning that suits them best. Some individuals achieve fantastic results in courses taught online, however most people drop out of 100% computer-led courses. Educational institutions, as well as companies in carrying out staff training, must recognize that there is no ideal way to carry out the teaching of a large group of individuals, and so must design programs that best suits the needs of the group as a whole. People learn using multiple senses. This involves learning through both theoretical components of a course, as well as social interaction with both instructors and other students. Students learn from each other's mistakes and successes, not just from what they are told by instructors. Each individual student has an ideal learning pace. Instructors are therefore faced with the challenge of designing courses that move forward such that those students with a slower learning pace do not get left behind, while not moving so slowly that students with faster learning paces get bored. Online education In the age of high-speed information transfer, online education is becoming a popular and cheap means for delivering teaching to individuals outside the classroom, and in some cases all over the world. Teaching can be via CD, websites, or through real-time online facilities such as webcasts, webinars and virtual classrooms. However, different methods of online education each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Online education is still a relatively new concept, and in many respects still in the teething stages. As such, various problems arrive across different online education environments. For example: 1. Lack of immediate feedback in asynchronous learning environments: While some online education environments such as webcasts, webinars and virtual classrooms operate live with the addition of an instructor, most do not. Teaching that is delivered through a CD or website, although having the advantage of being self-paced, provides no immediate feedback from a live instructor. 2. More preparation required on the part of the instructor: In an online education environment, an instructor can not simply stand in front of a whiteboard and deliver a class. Lessons in online education environments must be prepared ahead of time, along with any notes and instructions that may accompany the teaching. In many cases it would also be necessary that the instructor not only understands the concepts being taught, but the technology used to deliver that teaching. This therefore increases the skill-levels needed of online education instructors, placing greater demand on educational institutions. Staffing levels may also be higher for courses run in an online education environment, requiring for example: The Instructor - able to teach both course content and be skilled in the use of technologies involved The Facilitator - to assist the instructor in delivering content, but may do so remotely Help Desk - to offer assistance to instructors, facilitators and students in the use of both software and hardware used to deliver the course. 3. Not all people are comfortable with online education: Education is no longer only sought by the world's youth. With an increased trend towards adult and continuing education, there is a need to design courses suitable for students over a larger age-range, as well as students from different and varied backgrounds. It is difficult, however, to design online education environments suitable for everyone. 4. Increased potential for frustration, anxiety and confusion: In an online education environment, there are a greater number of parts making up the system that can fail. Server failures may prevent online courses from operating. Software based teaching applications may require other specific components to operate. Computer viruses may infect software necessary to run online education environments. If these systems are complex, students may choose the ease of On-campus education rather than taking the additional time and effort necessary to master the use of online education systems. 5. The Digital Divide: Many people who live in remote areas and developing countries do not have access to computers, making any form of online education virtually impossible. For this reason, online education is only able to be targeted at the people lucky enough to be able to take advantage of the technology involved. Similarly, offering live teaching across the world means that different time zones and nationalities increase the demand for multi-skilled instructors. In addition to these, there are also several legal issues associated with maintaining an online education environment. For example, intellectual property laws, particularly those relating to copyright, may or may not fully cover electronically created intellectual property. For example, information on a website is not necessarily considered to be public domain, despite being available to everyone. However, the Australian Copyright Act was amended in 2001 to ensure that copyright owners of electronic materials, including online education environments, could continue to provide their works commercially. On-Campus Education Still the most common form of instruction is traditional classroom-style learning. These instructor-led environments are more personal than online education environments, and also have the advantage of allowing for immediate feedback both to and from student and teachers alike. However, the classroom allows for less flexibility than courses run in online education environments. Instructors in modern classroom environments are still able to take advantage of several forms of electronic teaching tools while still maintaining the atmosphere associated with the traditional classroom environment. For example, PowerPoint slides can be utilized instead of a whiteboard or blackboard. Handouts can be distributed via course websites prior to the event. However, on the day, students are still able to actively participate in the lesson. Like online education environments, On-campus education comes with certain drawbacks, the most common of which is the classroom itself. This requires a group of people which, in a university for example, could reach a few hundred people in size, to gather in the same place at the same time. This requires enormous time and financial commitment on behalf of both the students and the educational institution. However, it is this sort of environment that is most familiar to students across the world. People of all ages can access a classroom environment feeling comfortable with the way that a classroom-run course is carried out. Older students who may not be comfortable with the use of information technology are not required to navigate their way through possibly complex online education environments, making On-campus education the most accessible form of teaching. On-campus education has one advantage that 100% electronically delivered courses can not offer - social interaction. Learning comes from observing, not only what is written on a page or presented in a slideshow, but what is observed in others. Most students are naturally curious, and so will want to ask questions of their instructors. The classroom environment allows students to clarify what is being taught not only with their instructors, but with other students. So, Which is Better? There is no style of instruction that will best suit every student. Studies have shown (Can online education replace On-campus education) that courses where online education is used to complement On-campus education have proved more effective than courses delivered entirely using only one method. These courses take advantage of both online education materials and a live instructor, and have produced results higher than those of students in either 100% online education or classroom environment courses. Students have the advantage of the immediate feedback and social interaction that comes with the classroom environment, as well as the convenience of self-paced online education modules that can be undertaken when it best suits the student. It would seem that online education environments will never completely replace On-campus education. There is no "one size fits all" method of teaching. Teaching styles will continue to adapt to find the method that best fits the learning group. Using a mix of online education environments and classroom sessions, educational institutions, corporations and government organizations can ensure that training is delivered that is convenient and effective for both instructors and students alike. by Mathew Simond Origin soruce : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/difference-between-on-campus-education-and-online-education Elon Musk said he would send his car into space and he did. Reference source : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/oh-btw-im-building-a-cyborg-dragon CPA (Cost-Per-Action) Marketing is an internet marketing income opportunity that's very similar to affiliate marketing. The difference between affiliate marketing and CPA marketing is the fact that CPA networks pay you every time a user clicks on your link and takes an action - like fills out their email address, register on the landing site or download and install an app on their phone. The actions required to profit from CPA programs depends on the specific program, but unlike affiliate marketing, CPA programs don't require an actual purchase to be made. This means that it's much easier to profit from CPA programs since users are only required to take a certain action, and then you get paid. With affiliate marketing, the user has to complete a purchase and pay for a product / service before you get paid. This is only one of the advantages CPA marketing holds over affiliate marketing. It's also easier to convert users with CPA programs since the programs are usually related to global interests - like "Win the brand new iPhone 6s" or "Win a $100 Amazon Gift Card". There's also a lot of different download CPA offers available on different networks - with these programs, your audience needs to download an app or game on their phone for free, and then you get paid for every install you refer. #1 - Use a squeeze page The most important part of succeeding in the CPA marketing industry is to make use of a squeeze page. By using a squeeze page, you are increasing your chances for a conversion, while building a list of ready-to-take-action subscribers at the same time. A squeeze page is a simple "landing page" where visitors will land before they are directed to the CPA offer. Your squeeze page should contain relevant information related to the CPA offer you are promoting - ask users to enter their email address into your email subscription form to continue. Once they add their email to your email subscription form, redirect them to the CPA offer. You can also have your auto responder send them an additional email with a link to the CPA offer in case the redirect didn't work in their browser, or they closed the browser too soon. #2 - Use Social Media Social media is a very important part of CPA marketing. Millions of users are turning to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and other social media networks every day to catch the latest news, check up on their friends, search for coupons and offers, and much more. This means that it's the perfect place to drop links to your squeeze pages / CPA offers. By promoting your CPA offers on social media, you are tapping into millions and millions of traffic - and if you do a good job, you can drive a lot of traffic back to your links. The strategy to use here is to first join some groups related to the niche your CPA offer is targeting. If you're promoting a trial offer for a new dieting pill, then you should join health and weight loss related groups / communities on social media. Once you've joined a couple of groups, start sharing helpful content with the group. Your content should provide some value - do not simply drop links! After a couple of posts, the group members will start to recognize your name and you'll have better authority in these groups. Now it's time to drop a link to your CPA offer - add a good description and tell the group why they should click on your link. Also add a creative image that related to the niche you're targeting. When dropping a link in these groups, be sure to add the link as close to the top as possible without starting the post with the link. Start with a title, drop the link and then add a description. The reason for this - when you create a long post on most social networks (except Twitter, where your tweets are limited) the post will be "shortened" with a "... " link that will expand the post. You want your link to appear above the text that gets cut off so people will be able to click on the link even if they don't expand the post. #3 - Use Document Sharing Sites Document sharing sites allow you to share PDF documents with others - they put your documents on their site and anyone browsing their site are able to see and read your documents. This is another great way to drive traffic back to your CPA offers! By simply sharing a couple of documents related to the CPA offer you are promoting, you are able to drive hundreds to thousands of visitors back to your link, bringing you more conversions and more profit. You might be wondering what documents you can share here... it's actually quite simple. Do some research about different topics in the niche your CPA offer is targeting. Try to find a few different topics you can target. Then create a simple new document on your word processor and start to write about the specific topic. If you're using a word processor such as Microsoft Word, you can also choose one of the templates that the software comes with to create a nice layout for your document. I usually go with the "Reports" templates. Add some helpful information in your document - anything more than 5 pages would do. The more helpful and the more closely related the information you share is compared to the CPA offer you are promoting, the higher the chances of getting more conversions on your clicks. Make sure you add a couple of links to your CPA offer in the document! Share your documents on as many document sharing sites as you can. Be sure to add unique descriptions for your document on each site, and also include a link back to your CPA offer in each description. #4 - Use Instagram Instagram is a social media network that focusses on multimedia - images and videos. This network is owned by Facebook, and it's almost as popular as Facebook. Instagram received millions of unique daily visitors, and there's millions of new images and videos posted every day. With Instagram, you can post images and videos, and you can tag them so people can easily find them. You can also like another person's posts, as well as comment on them. The more comments and likes your post received, the better chance of going viral. Instagram also allows you to follow other people, and offers a "timeline" view with the latest posts by the people you follow. The more followers you get, the more exposure your posts get. Now to drive traffic back to your CPA offer using Instagram can take a while to get started, but once you've tapped into this market, you can drive hundreds of dollars' worth of conversions each and every day from Instagram alone. To use this method, you should create a new Instagram account. Name your account something that relates to the offer you are promoting. You also need a landing page / squeeze page hosted on a custom domain - you CANNOT link directly to a CPA offer or you will be banned. Add a profile picture that relates to your niche, and then add a bio that relates to the offer you are promoting. And finally add a link to your squeeze page in the "Website Link" field while updating your profile. Now you should add only 1 new image / video per day on your Instagram account. You can find millions of images on the internet related to your niche. Tag your image with popular tags - there's many different apps and websites that will give you the most popular and trending tags. Then hit publish. Once you've added your image, start to follow a couple of people in your niche. Also like some of their pictures, and also comment on some of their posts. Do NOT spam - be thoughtful and considerate, and find a good balance between posting new images / videos, following other people, liking other's posts and commenting on posts. Continue doing this and you'll soon start building up followers and driving traffic to your squeeze page. Just be-aware that this drives MOBILE TRAFFIC so you need to ensure both your squeeze page and the CPA offer you are promoting are mobile-optimized. #5 - Use PPV Advertising The last strategy for gaining a lot of profit with CPA marketing is to use PPV advertising. PPV advertising is pay-per-view promotion, which means you pay an amount based on the total number of views your ad receives. This type of advertising works, you just need to find the right network. There's several different PPV networks that you can make use of, and it will take some trial and error before you finally succeed - but keep at it and you will soon hit your first $100 day! PPV advertising can cost you as little as $0.01 per visitor, which is really cheap. Imagine being able to convert offers at $0.01 per visitor. That's insane! The only downside to using PPV advertising is the fact that most PPV networks require a large amount to start with. Most PPV networks will only allow you to start off with an amount of $50+ - this means you should have some startup capital if you want to use PPV. If you don't have this much to spend right now, don't worry. There's still an upside to this! I've shared with you 4 different strategies you can use to drive traffic to your CPA offers without having to spend a lot of money. Most of them are actually completely free. This means you can drive free targeted traffic to your squeeze pages and CPA links. So if you follow the first 4 strategies, implement them and keep with them, you will be able to push up your CPA earnings to the point where you have enough to invest in PPV advertising. by Gerhard G Homveld Source link : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/top-5-cpa-marketing-strategies What does it take to be successful in blogging as or for a business? My friend Al from Coolest Gadgets contacted me for some quotes to use in a presentation he has coming up, and as usual, I gave him way more material than he could use. Rather than let it go to waste, I have written it up here as an article. These aren’t the only lessons, but they are a start. If you like them, check out my article from 2008 that has 41 tips about the blogging side of things. Revenue generation
Networking
Social Media
Managing time, money and resources
Building the business
Bottom lineYou will notice I don’t talk about tools or technologies in the lessons above. There is a good reason for that. The tools change but in general, people don’t. Back when I started writing online articles in return for hosting space, I used HTML, FTP, and GIF images … but it was the content and relationships that made them succeed or fail. When I got advertising revenue from my programming articles, and later consulting and freelance leads, it wasn’t because of the word processor I used or my photoshop skills. When I run an online course, nobody asks if I am using Premise versus Amember before purchasing Which all makes me realise, these lessons could easily apply to a brick and mortar business, or an ecommerce business, just as easily as one based around blogging. by Chris Garrett See more source : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/29-blogging-business-survival-tips What is the secret to getting your content read, shared and acted on? Is your content really useful versus just well-written? Why do some writers get real results from their articles, while other writers work just as hard, or harder, and don’t seem to get noticed? Of course there are many reasons, but a key reason that I see over and over again is what I call the “Hot Potato” effect. Before we get into what that is, let’s talk a little bit about what good content is, and what kind of content you might want to aim to share … What is good content? For me good content is useful content. I’ve sat in lecture halls and conference rooms listening to fantastic speakers … only to leave no better off than when I walked in. I have read books cover-to-cover and been entertained, but not been given anything I could use. Even worse, there are some best selling authors and speakers giving people really fun BAD advice. Advice that sounds good but which if implemented would cause problems rather than solve them. Good content works for the reader and the author. It’s not just about laughs for the audience and attention for the creator. People will disagree with me, and that is good. That said, I have a simple definition of useful content that has served me well:
It’s simple and it works. How can you help improve your chances of getting results?
There is something more important than all of that, however. It matters in writing, in public speaking, in podcasts, videos, and interviews. What is that most important thing?
Sounds simple, but as I say (too often), common sense is seldom common practice. People post to their blogs, forums and social media all the time when they don’t have anything meaningful to share. You have seen it. Maybe they have a calendar to hit, or maybe they like the attention, but it hurts their brand. You are only as good as your last post. People remember! Do you want people to remember you as the loud mouth with nothing to contribute or the person who shows up with consistently good stuff?
That’s where great content comes from. Don’t Wait for the Perfect TimeThis is part of the reason why I haven’t posted on this blog for months. Analysis paralysis was a big part of it. A dramatic drop in writing confidence another Not having time to think was a big part too … Don’t wait. The perfect time will never come. It’s a mistake I have made a lot since I started writing online in the 1990’s. Oh, I had stuff I could write about. People ask me questions all the time, I answer as many as I can humanly get to. I see interesting stuff happening and I could comment on it. But I wanted to wait until I had time and energy to contribute properly, and it never seemed like that time was going to arrive. Yup, I was out doing stuff, as I mention above, so much stuff I couldn’t write about it! I was working on some stuff that I wanted to share, but I wanted to dig into these experiments properly so I could do more than skim the subjects superficially. One of which I’m pretty proud of and can talk about more now it’s out there in public … We turned the Copyblogger email subscription into something far more useful, valuable, sophisticated and just plain cooler Please check it out and let me know what you think. The results have blown me away, by the way. Because of the results, and the cool factor, you will be seeing this approach pop up on a lot of other sites soon. And this brings us to the “Hot Potato” factor. Are you flinging a hot potato at your audience or are you contributing something real? One of the reasons I am not sad about Google Reader going away is the feeds I subscribed to had turned into an echo chamber of me-too writing. Instead of having something meaningful to add, instead of doing interesting work and then talking about it, people were just regurgitating what other people had taught, or recycling the same news story everyone else was writing about. Every social media blunder was a new reason to write “Ten things we can learn from ____ mistake”. All that has its place, but it seems a lot of people think that is the winning move, the gold standard, where if anything it should be just one tool in your kit bag. Don’t just pick up a new thing from your feeds then fling it at your audience. Don’t read an ebook then immediately barf it back up onto your blog.
For sure, learn everything you can from people you respect. But then internalise it. Put it into action. Try stuff out. Did it work for you? Disagree! Make mistakes! Don’t be the person who writes about making money online before they make a cent. By all means write about what you are learning, just be honest about your experience and definitely write about stuff you have done and tried, not just something you heard from someone else. It’s sad when I see obviously parroted content from people who I think have superstar potential. You are better than that. So if that’s what NOT to do, what SHOULD we do?Go out there and do stuff, even if that means failing. Read. Listen. Discuss. Sure … But make sure you are not just consuming but experimenting and implementing. Bottom LineI wanted to get this out to you, imperfect as it is, to show that what really counts is giving something to your audience that you hope will help in some way. In summary, don’t tell us what someone else said, tell us what you have done and what you learned from it. Something that is worth reading, sharing, linking to, and learning from … and don’t wait for it to be perfect! What do you think? Am I being unfair? What is your definition of good content? Please share in the comments …

Source link : Originally from The Best Marketing Online Training Course - Feed http://jcbspro.net/south-oc-cars-coffee-you-can-buy-this-electric-porsche-914 A big question I get asked all the time here and on Copyblogger webinars (right after how to generate traffic or build a list), is
In my previous post, I talked about what makes content truly successful, and I gave a big answer, but for this particular issue, great content is only part of the solution. What more do you need? I will tell you now, it’s not just a big list. In fact, a lot of seemingly successful people are not doing that great and only look like they do because of the size of their list. Smaller businesses are doing much better than they seem because they have a missing piece of the puzzle that makes all the difference. What’s that piece? To answer that we have to step back … The SequenceYour typical visitor is not going to buy your stuff right away. Enough people do that some advertising-driven businesses can do well, but the vast majority are not going to take your action as soon as you ask, and the higher price point the more you should not rely on the first click leading to a sale. Rather than try to make a first impression AND get a transaction, we suggest you …
… in that order. The MagicWhen you get this right, magic happens. You know how little I have posted to this blog in the past year? Not a lot. But people keep signing up to my lists, people buy my ebooks. That’s got to mean I have a lot of goodwill built up. Obviously this posting schedule (or lack of) would not work for someone just starting out, and my click through and conversion rates are not what they were, but they are still preeety nice. All this goodwill came from valuable content followed by engagement. How do I do it?To simplify things, let’s ignore my Copyblogger work I do and the smaller historical stuff, and focus in on the two big chunks of chrisg.com and Authority Blogger. Just remember that everything you do contributes and compounds your reputation.
Straightforward? Simple? I would say so. BUT, it’s not that easy in practice is it? It never is! Authority Blogger is not just a sales page. It actually has its own, separate list. It has it’s own sequence. I don’t just say “interested in having a blog to market your business? Pay here!” Know, Like and TrustOf course you will have heard this before, but it’s worth looking at correctly. Out of know, like and trust, “Know” is the easiest part. Yes, I am saying it is easier to get attention than it is to be liked or respected. Think about it. You can buy exposure and attention. I could strip naked and run into the street. But that doesn’t mean you will like me (probably the opposite) and sure doesn’t mean you will buy from me. So you need to do the other stuff …
And you have to be approachable, available and personable when you do. Next StepNormally I would write another thousand words or two, but it turns out Dany Iny has a resource that will go into much more detail for you. As an affiliate I get to offer you his Amazon Best-Seller book (he is offering to you for free in return for your email address). It’s actually very good – Aaaand, obviously, he is using the strategy I just outlined! The process starts with a nice video explaining how you don’t need a massive list, and then he gives you an ebook featuring wisdom from big names like Brian Clark, and popular sales guys like Derek Halpern. He will also invite you to a webinar, and after that will tell you about his program that goes into all this stuff in detail. Regardless of if you are ready to buy anything, I recommend you check out his sequence. See this stuff working in practice. Click here and check it outFeel free to delete my affiliate cookie after you sign up, I won’t cry into my cornflakes if I don’t get sent a commission! Just make sure you observe every step and ask what Danny is doing, why he is doing it, how he positions each part. Compare it to my own sequence if you have been through it.
